砂桩在饱满软土中只起竖向排水作用，因而其整体加密作用比挤密碎石桩加强夯作用要低些，一般可作为大面积场区地基预处理计划。经过处理后可作为一般修建、厂房、路途简略设备地基，关于高重设备则需经过验算，应辅以设备桩基。
